The Sport of Life and Death

Today I finished a 50 image project cataloging images from The Sport of Life and Death by E. Michael Whittington. These images detail the artifacts left from Precolumbian Mesoamerican Ball Games. Through these objects you are given a view of the brutal nature of this game. The courts used were viewed as gates to the underworld where the losing team would be sacrificed to the gods.
